STILLWATER, Okla. (KWCH) -- An arrest has been made in Oklahoma after the search for a missing former Hutchinson woman turned into a homicide investigation.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Earl Oswalt was arrested on a murder count, stemming from the disappearance of 29-year-old Chelsey Chaffin.
Chaffin reportedly worked with Oswalt at a Stillwater tile company. Investigators say she moved into a house he owned on May 24 and was killed two days later. Oswalt then allegedly dumped her body over a bridge into the Cimarron River.
Oswalt, a registered sex offender, was paroled in 2017 after spending 20 years of a 60 year prison for a rape conviction.
The OSBI says that the investigation is still going, as well as the search for Chaffin's body.
