New legislation will increase VA accountability

A Kansas Senator is praising new legislation to increase VA accountability.

Republican Senator Jerry Moran praised the unanimous Senate passage of the Department of Veteran Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act.

The legislation increases the VA's authority to remove employees at all levels of departments, shortens the removal process and ensures those individuals aren't kept on the payroll. It also makes it easier to remove poorly performing senior executives and replace them with qualified candidates.

Sen. Moran says the legislation will help provide veterans with the care they deserve.
