(AP) Federal investigators say failure to maintain aircraft control, resulted in the 2017 crash that killed a Topeka doctor.
The National Transportation Safety Board's final report found "no mechanical anomalies."
Topeka physician William Leeds and his flight instructor, James Bergman of Leewood, were killed in July 2017 at Topeka's Billard Airport.
The NTSB determined the accident's probable cause was a loss of control. Their report noted Dr. Leeds had severe coronary artery disease, which could cause sudden impairment.
But they say if that happened, Bergman could have successfully completed the flight.
