LYON CO., Kan. (WIBW) Six people were injured on the Kansas Turnpike Friday morning after the car swerved, went into the ditch and struck a tree.
It happened around 5:45 a.m. on I-335, just south of the Admire exit in Lyon County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says only one vehicle was involved. The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica was headed southbound on Hwy. 335 when it entered the median, struck the barrier wall, entered the right ditch and struck a tree.
Both directions of traffic were shut down for a brief period while crews cleared the scene.
Six people, from St. Paul and Minneapolis, suffered minor or serious injuries. Their ages ranged from 28 to 34.
Five were taken to a hospital.
