Moscow man arrested in toddler's death

MOSCOW, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 34-year-old man faces a murder charge after a toddler was reportedly found dead Tuesday in their Moscow, Kansas, home.

According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, deputies with the Stevens Co. Sheriff’s Office found the 2-year-old shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday after they went to the house, 2046 Rd. Y. Deputies first questioned the homeowner, Mikhail Lahey, Sr., before discovering the body of Mikhail Lahey, Jr.

The Sheriff’s Office reached out to the KBI for assistance investigating the boy’s death around 5 p.m., the KBI said. Both KBI agents and members of the Crime Scene Response Team responded to the scene to help. Their investigation remains ongoing.

Lahey was questioned at the home, and booked shortly before midnight into the Stevens Co. Jail for first-degree murder.

The KBI added no other information will be released at this time.
