TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Mission Valley schools sent a notice to parents Monday morning after a threat was made on social media.
According to a letter sent to parents, a picture was circulating on Snap Chat of a gun with the caption “Don’t come to school tomorrow”.
A parent alerted school administration, who then contacted the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office who is conducting an investigation.
A juvenile was taken into custody at home somewhere in Wabaunsee County. Authorities did not say what charges the juvenile was arrested on.
Deputies and Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers were at the school Monday morning, only allowing students and staff into buildings.
The district says the student who made the alleged threat was not on school grounds and was not at school Monday.
USD 330 commended the parent who made the report and reminds anyone, if you see or hear something, report it.
