Manhattan's Military Relations Committee held their August luncheon

The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce Military Relations Committee hosted their monthly luncheon Wednesday at Manhattan’s Four Points by Sheraton Inn.

The guest speaker for the luncheon was Gary LaGrange, the founder and president of the Service member Agricultural Vocation Education Corp. also known as the S.A.V.E. Farm.

LaGrange talked about the S.A.V.E. Farm came to life from an idea his daughter had after working with service members with PTSD at a greenhouse.

The SAVE farm has been in operation for three years and offer numerous programs to help those who may need a new way to start their new career path and get on the right track with their mental health.

“We have internship programs, we have farm tours, so if someone is a veteran or even a…15 percent or more of our students have to be non-veterans, so it’s open to all persons.” The S.A.V.E. Training Farm, President and Founder, Gary Lagrange says.

Senator Jerry Moran stopped by for a surprise visit, to show his continued support of the S.A.V.E. Farm.
