MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Manhattan’s Military Relations Committee met up Wednesday for their monthly luncheon.
On Wednesday, the Manhattan and Fort Riley communities spread some Christmas cheer --- several attendees made donations to operation Santa Claus.
The program helps children in need on Fort Riley.
Committee Chair Richard Jankovich said the luncheons are important to help people understand how the military works.
“The operating cycle that the military has is so important and very chaotic to a civilian. The more we understand that the more we can help the families and we try to do the most outreach as we can and todays a great example,” explained Jankovich.
The next committee luncheon will be held February 6, 2019 at Manhattan’s Hilton Garden Inn.
