The Riley County Police Department confirms to 13 News that the grandson of K-State head football coach Bill Snyder has died.

The Riley County Police Department's Hali Rowland says 22-year old Matt Snyder died Wednesday afternoon.

Rowland confirmed to 13 NEWS early Thursday morning that emergency responders were called to the 3300 block of Claflin Avenue around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Rowland is calling this an unattended death, and it is being investigated as a suicide.

According to the Manhattan Mercury newspaper, Matt Snyder is the son of K-State's associate head coach and special teams coordinator, Sean Snyder.
