Man shot after allegedly pulling gun on Geary Co. deputy in stable condition

A 19-year-old Nebraska man is recovering today after being shot by a Geary County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Geary County Sheriff Tony Wolf says deputies responded to the area of Skiddy Road and Skiddy West around 6:30 Sunday morning on reports of a possible vehicle accident with three suspicious people walking in the area. Deputies made contact with the two males and one female a mile north of the Skiddy Cemetery.
Wolf says during the investigation one of the subjects pulled a handgun from the waistband of his pants in a threatening manner and was shot by the deputy.
The victim, Dylan Binnick from Beatrice, Neb. was shot in the right side of the chest. He was Lifeflighted to Stormont-Vail where he is stable condition.
The two other subjects have been identified as Noah Marshall, 18, and a 16-year-old female, both from Beatrice. During the investigation it was determined that both subjects had been suspects in felony crimes in Beatrice in the days prior.
The case has been turned over to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
