Man sentenced for heroin, fentanyl found during Shawnee Co. car stop
Eight pounds of heroin and four pounds of fentanyl added up to 15 years in federal prison for an Arizona man.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Devonte Starks, 30, of Phoenix was sentenced Friday in federal court.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers stopped Starks in Shawnee Co. in September 2018. They say he was among four people in the car with the drugs.
A jury convicted Starks in April on counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
The Drug Enforcement Administration assisted on the case.
