Man pleads guilty to shooting death during drug deal

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A man has plead guilty for the shooting death of a 20-year-old during a marijuana sale last year.

Shawnee Co. District Attorney Mike Kagay announced Wednesday Isaiah Calhoun plead guilty to second degree murder.

He is convicted in the shooting death of Gianni Noriega, who was found with gunshot wounds in the 400 block of SW Taylor on August 16th, 2016. Noriega was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Another man, Brandon Lee Gayer, 18, is also charged in Noriega's death. His trial is set for April 1st.

Calhoun's sentencing has been set for April 26th.
