MFD: Manhattan man behind bars after setting fire to Riley Co. house

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Manhattan man is behind bars after setting fire to a Riley Co. home last weekend.

The Manhattan Fire Dept. responded to a house fire with multiple explosions reported at 820 Church Ave. on Friday, November 2, 2018.

The blaze was intentionally set and nobody was injured, according to Dep. Chief Ryan Almes.

Riley Co. police arrested Michael Watt, 37, Wednesday in connection with the arson, Almes said.

Watt is currently being held in the Riley Co. jail on a $75,000 bond.
