If you're looking for scholarship money for college or know someone who is, we have news for you.

The Kansas County Clerks Association and Election Officials Association are giving away $500 in scholarship money to high school seniors and college freshman and sophomores.

Any student going to a Kansas college or high school and is pursuing a degree in journalism, communications, business, and or political science is eligible.

the student must also have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

All the money is raised during the county clerks annual conference.

"This scholarship was actually started by funds from the AP and other major news outlets for election night reporting," Shawnee Co., Assistant Election Commissioner Mark Stock said. "To continue that tradition the association is continuing this with fundraiser efforts to provide about ten scholarships. It depends on how much money is raised at the conference for this activity."

Application deadline is April 2, 2018. Those interested can tap the link in the story and submit the application or you can take the finished application to Shawnee Co., Election Office.
