MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their 2020 Leadership Manhattan class with orientation Tuesday and a welcome reception late Tuesday afternoon.
The welcome reception was held at the Midwest Dream Car Collection with appetizers by The Farmhouse in Olsburg, where Leadership Manhattan alumni and other community leaders greeted the 2020 class.
They have six more sessions covering topics including State Government, Local Government, Community Awareness, Education, Civic Engagement, and Development and Industry.
Leadership Manhattan provides a continuous source of motivated leaders who are educated in the challenges and opportunities of the region, along with training and inspiring members to assume leadership roles, at all levels, in the Manhattan area.
“It’s so important for all communities to keep promoting the leaders and training them so that they’ll be the next ones to take over.” Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, 2020 chairman of the board, Larie Shoap says.
The 2020 Leadership Manhattan Graduation Luncheon will be held May 5th with an overview of all the class has learned and done over the course of their time with Leadership Manhattan.
