TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Direct care staff at Larned State Hospital will now see a pay increase.
Gov. Laura Kelly signed an executive order last week in support of the increase.
The effort is set to address staffing and retention challenges the hospital faced in the past.
The pay increase will effect more than 325 current benefits-eligible employees and new hires in positions, including LPN's client training supervisors, SSO lieutenants, and others.
"KDADS' state hospital employees do important and meaningful work every day that has a direct impact on the quality of life for some of our most vulnerable citizens. I was proud to sign this directive to support them," Gov. Kelly said.
The order took effect on December 1.
