Kelly picks Idaho Deputy Dir. to lead KS Dept. of Corrections

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The Kansas Department of Corrections will soon have a new director.

Governor Laura Kelly announced Thursday morning that Jeffery Zmuda will lead the state's DOC starting July 1st.

Zmuda is currently deputy director of the Idaho Department of Correction.

The governor's office said Zmuda has a long record of success with the Idaho department of corrections, where he previously served as Chief of Prisons.

Zmuda will take the place of acting Secretary Roger Werholtz, whose last day is May 31st.
