Kansas Wage survey highlights wage and employment rankings

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The 2019 Kansas Wage Survey, which details estimated wage and employment data, is now available online.

Payment and employment rankings were highlighted from the survey.

The average hourly wage has increased since last year from $21.43 per hour to $21.77 per hour.

Management claims the title for highest paid occupation group, while anesthesiologist takes highest paid occupation with an average of $140.42 per hour. Eight of the top ten highest paid occupations were in the healthcare field.

On the other hand, nine of the ten lowest paid occupations were in the food preparation and serving group. The same group was also in the top five for highest employment.

Rounding that top five are office and administrative support, sales and related, production, and transportation and material moving.
