Kansas Gas Service wants you to call before you dig!
They "sweetly" asked us to pass along the reminder!
Thursday, Dawn Tripp with Kansas Gas Service stopped by the WIBW studios to deliver cup cakes in honor of National 811 Day.
811 Day is Sunday, reminding you of the hotline to call two full days before a digging project, big or small.
"Really at the core of this message is safety," says Tripp. "Kansas Gas Services is interested in ways of keeping the public safe and when you come in contact with an underground utility line, you do run the risk of disruption of natural gas service, if it's a gas line or injury or even worse."
Kansas Gas also has a contest on their Facebook page, promoting National 811 Day.
