After losing Udoka Azubuike for the rest of the season, Bill Self is turning to a freshman to help strengthen a new rotation for his Jayhawks.

The head coach announced on Tuesday that Ochai Agbaji will start playing for No. 7 Kansas on Wednesday night against No. 25 TCU. Agbaji was redshirted, but this move will lift that off of him.

"We're gonna play small a lot and we need depth," Self said on his radio show, Hawk Talk. "We need guys that can make some plays above the rim that you can't really teach. As far as athletic ability, he's the best athlete we have on our team. So we're excited."

Agbaji is a Kansas City native from Oak Park High School. The guard was rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports.com.
