KS Lottery warns followers about Instagram impostors

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The Kansas Lottery says online impostors are using their name to try and steal your personal information.

The agency posted the alert on their Facebook account this morning, warning of the fake Instagram accounts pretending to be the Kansas Lottery.

The post says the scammer will then message their followers, trying to fool them into giving out their personal information.

The bogus message says it's from "Attorney Herrara," but lottery officials say no such person exists.

The lottery's Instagram handle is "@kslottery" -- all one word. They say anything else just isn't real.
