Kansas Department of Transportation has shutdown parts of a north Topeka bridge Monday, after concrete began crumbling onto a nearby highway.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office told 13 NEWS, they received reports around 4:39 p.m., Monday that concrete from the Silver Ridge Bridge was falling onto Highway 24 and Stover Road.

When they arrived they found concrete in the middle of the highway and several cars damaged from wrecks.

Authorities say KDOT is inspecting the bridge, and have closed the northbound section to traffic.

There have been no injuries reported at this time.
