KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) — A Kansas City teen has been arrested months after a video surfaced showing a man gleefully kicking a cat like he was kicking a field goal.

Nineteen-year-old Jonathan Taylor faces a misdemeanor count of animal abuse stemming from incident, KCTV5 reports. No court date has been set.

The video - which went viral over the summer - showed the man on the Center High School football field, in Kansas City, Missouri, kicking the black feline. The high school's principal reportedly found the footage online and brought it to the city's attention.

At the time, a spokesperson for Kansas City's Neighborhoods and Housing Services Dept., John Baccala, told KCTV5 an animal health officer went to the high school, but could not find the cat.
