KBI cancels Silver Alert for missing Overland Park man

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has canceled a statewide silver alert for a missing Overland Park man.

84-year-old Walter Whitley was last seen on July 13th at approximately noon driving a U-Haul truck from Indiana to Overland Park, Ks. The Overland Park Police Department reported Whitley was located safe in Kansas City, Mo. His family has been notified and is on their way to pick him up.

The truck he was in had an Arizona license plate with the number AE87635.

Whitley is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 265 pounds. He has brown hair, is bald, and wears glasses. Whitley has dementia and is diabetic, and is prescribed medication, which he is required to take.
