KBI investigate human remains found at Melvern Lake
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating human skeletal remains found at Melvern Lake, in Osage County.
According to the KBI, the remains were found around 5:30 p.m. Friday, by a park ranger from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
They were found in an area called Turkey Point Waterfront Day Use.
The ranger called the Osage County Sheriff Office, who then called the KBI to assist with the investigation.
Agents are investigating to determine the person’s sex, race, age, and cause of death.
According to a news release, “Forensic anthropology experts from the Washburn University Anthropology Department are also assisting with this investigation.”
