Kansas State University says no one was hurt in a chemical spill Tuesday evening at the Biosecurity Research Institute on campus.

A news release from the school states the Manhattan Fire Department responded to the Institute inside Pat Roberts Hall just after 5:30 p.m.

KSU officials say the spill was contained to the room where it occurred. They say MFD crews left the scene shortly after 6 p.m.

The university did not specify what type of chemical was involved.

KSU says its staff was continuing cleanup and will investigate what caused the spill.
