A K-State graduate student is being recognized for summarizing more than 11,000 words of her research in just three minutes.
Chris Omni won first place at the Three Minute Thesis regional competition in St. Louis last week. She now moves on to nationals in Nashville.
Omni had just 180 seconds and one just slide to present her thesis to a lay audience.
"I spent hours, literally hours, getting and perfecting this three-minute thesis,” Omni said. “So not only did it take the time to get the data, it also took time to pull out what was really key."
Her research examines health disparities that disproportionately impact black women.
You can catch Omni's award-winning three-minute
and join in on a demonstration at the Capitol on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
