TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — A juvenile was arrested Thursday in connection with a string of robberies that plagued Topeka convenience stores and restaurants over the past six months.

The young man, whose name was not released, was booked into the Shawnee Co. Juvenile Dept. of Corrections on six counts of aggravated robbery, the Topeka Police Dept. said. They say officers identified him through an ongoing investigation.

Investigators say the teen robbed the Murphy's Express, at 1531 SW Wanamaker, twice in July 2017 before holding up the Kwik Shop in the 5700 block of SW 21st Street a pair of times - once in September 2017 and then again nearly two months later.

After those incidents, he’s accused of robbing the McDonald's in the 1600 block of SW Wanamaker on November 21, 2017, and then the China Express, 514 SW 10th Street, early last month.

Police added three other cases were cleared as a result of the investigation as well.
