Junction City's Aldi store holds grand opening and ribbon cutting

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - Aldi in Junction City hosted its grand opening and ribbon cutting Thursday at their new Chestnut Street location.

More than one hundred Junction City residents waited patiently for the doors to officially open at their new Aldi store.

Members of the Junction City Chamber of Commerce were on hand for the ribbon cutting.

Some residents had been standing in line since 4:30am Thursday morning in anticipation of the store’s grand opening.

The first 100 customers in line received gift cards of varying amounts up to one hundred dollars.

“Now that Aldi has become more popular it will definitely be a good foundation for Junction City to have.” Junction City Aldi, Store Manager, Emily Kramer says.

“It’s wonderful, it’s space, it’s roomy, and lots of people just love this. I’m glad Junction City got to have an Aldi’s“ Junction Ctty business owner and first customer in line at grand opening, Dee Vogan says.

The Grand Opening celebration continues at Junction City’s Aldi location until 8:00 Thursday night.
