(WIBW) - A home burglary in the Grantville area sparked an alert while authorities searched for the suspect.
The Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office says they received a call just before 5 p.m. Tuesday of a burglary in progress.
Deputies responded, along with the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife and Parks.
Authorities arrested one suspect at the scene, but launched a search for a second. While they investigated, several people in the area reported receiving a "Code Red" alert call, alerting them to the situation and urging them to stay indoors.
KHP Trooper Don also tweeted an alert for people to avoid the area around NE 39th St. and K4 highway, and, they did travel through that stretch, to not give anyone a ride.
The Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office says the second suspect was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop that stemmed from the burglary call.
Trooper Don tweeted an "all clear" around 8 p.m.
Authorities say their investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have not released the suspects names, however 13 News checked the booking report on the Jefferson County Sheriff's website.
The booking report shows Shawn Sparks, 36, was arrested Tuesday night around 7:10 on charges of attempted burglary and criminal trespass.
