TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) Traffic is flowing on I-70 once again after a crash overnight littered the pavement in heavy equipment.
The Topeka Police Dept. said they responded to I-70 at 10th Street around 2:38 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a commercial vehicle accident with the loss of heavy equipment.
TPD said the heavy equipment affected both directions of travel.
KDOT assisted in cleaning up the heavy equipment spilled on the highway.
After several hours, both eastbound and westbound lanes reopened.
The 8th avenue exit is still closed as KDOT crews work to clear the scene.
The type of payload has not been specifically identified, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
