HORTON, Kan. (WIBW)-- The Horton High School Language Arts teacher at the center of a profanity-filled Facebook rant has resigned according to an article by mscnews.net.

Alisa Britt became the center of a gun control controversy after she made a profanity laced post on her Facebook page in early last month.

Britt's resignation was accepted during the USD 430 Board of Education meeting Monday night following an executive session meeting.

The Facebook post included a profane tirade supporting President Obama's executive actions against gun purchases.

Britt's post ended by claiming that those who opposed the actions were "the ones who DESERVE to have your children shot, or your sibling, or the kid next door". She later removed the post.
