HIAWATHA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Hiawatha City Commission approved an indoor vaping ban.
The use of electronic cigarettes is now prohibited in any enclosed public places or places of employment within the city. E-cigarrettes are not allowed in bars, restaurants, retail stores, or any other indoor public places in Hiawatha.
People would be fined at least $50 for their first violation, $100 for the second, and $200 for any violation after that.
Both the police and fire departments will enforce it.
Private homes and e-cigarette shops are exempt from the rule.
