TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Artists, community members, and employees of a Topeka bank ate lunch and listened to music this afternoon, all while raising awareness for mental health.
Heritage Bank is hosting an exhibit of artwork from the Creations of Hope gallery.
Creations of Hope is a partnership of artists who use their talent to bring attention to depression, anxiety and other forms of mental illness.
Cara Weeks, the manager of Expressive Therapies, said art is a way to help people.
"It really helps the person kind of rebuild their life when they are going through struggles,” Weeks said. “When they tap into that creative part of themselves they get to, not only express themselves, but also create kind of tangible evidence of things that are going well and good in their lives."
The exhibit has been up for about two weeks - and most of the items are for sale.
