TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Historic Harley Davidson continued a long-time tradition Wednesday.
Harley riders gathered for the annual New Year's Ride, which has been going on every year since the 1970s.
Topeka Harley Davidson owner Mike Patterson said this year's turnout was one of the biggest they've had.
“This ride's happened when it's been in the teens, or even almost zero, and we always have people here,” Patterson said. “It's never a day when there's not at least somebody here, but, big turnout today."
This year's ride was a little special. The riders detoured from their usual route to stop by the home of Zeke Zimmerman, who couldn't make the ride this year. Zimmerman was the shop's first customer in 1949 and usually makes the yearly ride.
