Gun shots go off during fight inside Topeka convenience store

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Gun shots rang out inside a Topeka convenience store Wednesday afternoon as two men fought over the gun one of them had pulled out, according to the Topeka Police Dept.

Officers are still trying to locate the two people involved. Investigators say they have surveillance video showing the two men fighting inside the Phillips 66, at 2024 SE California St. shortly after 2:30 p.m. One of them drew the gun and it started firing as they struggled over it.

Officers did not way how many shots were fired. They do not believe anyone was hit by the gunfire.

After the confrontation, the two men took off in separate vehicles, Topeka police say. One of them went south on California in a silver Toyota Camry, while the other headed the other way in black Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
