TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Vice-President Mike Pence and members of Congress paid tribute to President George H.W. Bush during a ceremony Monday at the U.S. Capitol.

Among those who came to pay their respects was Kansas Governor Dr. Jeff Colyer. Following the service, which included speeches by Pence, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Governor's Office released a picture of Colyer paying his respects to the nation's 41st president.

"Although it is a time of mourning for our nation, and a sad time for me personally, I am honored to be here at the viewing for my former boss and friend (President Bush)," Colyer said.

Colyer had served as a White House Fellow in international affairs under President Bush as well as his predecessor President Ronald Reagan.
