Geary Co. fugitives arrested in Wamego

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Four people wanted for aggravated burglary and aggravated battery in Geary Co. were arrested in Wamego Monday night, according to Wamego Police.

Chief Michael D. Baker Sr. says Dustin Monroe, 39, of Junction City, Marcus Rogel, 18, of Westmoreland, Matthew Rogel, 25, of Junction City, and Michael Rogel, 24, of Junction City, were all arrested Monday night without incident.

Baker says the Wamego Police Dept. received an anonymous tip just after 5 p.m. Monday indicating the four men, who were wanted out of Grandview Plaza, were staying in the Simmer Motel.

After a quick investigation, Wamego P.D. learned that Dustin Monroe had a room at the motel registered under his name.

Around 7:30 p.m., Wamego P.D., with the assistance of the Kansas Highway Patrol set up a perimeter around the motel room the four were in and used their loudspeaker to call them out.

Baker said all exited and were then taken into custody without incident.

All four face felony counts of Aggravated battery and Aggravated burglary.

Baker did not know the specifics regarding their charges out of Grandview Plaza.
