HAYSVILLE, Kan. (AP) Freezing drizzle has caused at least one deadly wreck in Kansas and forced dozens of school districts to cancel classes.

Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Candice Breshears says Dennis Gentry was killed Tuesday when he lost control of his pickup truck on U.S. 169 while crossing a Miami County bridge, then slid into a grassy area and overturned.

Because of the dangerous conditions, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Wednesday for a large swath of the Midwest, including most of Kansas. The state's Department of Transportation says many roads in the northeast and lower half of the state are partially or completed covered.

The Army's Fort Riley announced that it would operate on a two-hour delay. Bethany College also told students to stay home.
