TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - As we're in the middle of tax season, shredding events are popping up across the area to help you get ride of your personal documents.
Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is hosting several free document shredding destruction events to mark the start of National Consumer Protection Week.
Wednesday, you can take your items to Cico Park in Manhattan between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. or Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence from 4 to 6 p.m.
You can also take your documents to the Judicial Center in Topeka this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
“Our office works hard year-round to protect consumers,” Schmidt said. “We will place a particular focus on helping Kansans protect themselves from identity theft and stay safe from scams.”
You are asked to only bring three small bags or boxes.
