Founder of Topeka's Tulip Time and Ken Berry League passes away

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The founder of Tulip Time and the Ken Berry League in Topeka passed away over the weekend.

Joan Binkley, 84, was born in Nortonville, Kansas, in 1934. She married her high school sweetheart, Jerold, in 1955 and was known for playing Bridge and socializing with her many friends.

Sharing of memories will begin Wednesday, May 15th, at 4 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., with viewing to follow until 6:30. Services will start Thursday, May 16th, at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St. Burial will take place after.

Memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Friends of Ted Ensley Gardens.
