Former Topeka YMCA could be turned into paintball, obstacle course

An old baseball field might soon be turned into an outdoor activity center for kids.

Tuesday's Topeka City Council agenda includes a resolution by Topeka City Manager Brent Trout to turn the field behind the former North Topeka YMCA into paintball, obstacle, disc golf and foot golf courses.

The idea would need approval from the city's planning commission.

The facility is now owned by Great Life, a Topeka-based golf and fitness chain. They bought it in October, along with the former Downtown YMCA branch.
