A food truck heads down the Fork in the Road this week
When the weather gets warmer, the music gets louder in downtown Topeka. And when there’s music, there’s always good food.
“All our food is so good,” said Erin Francois, owner of Snoutherns Food Truck.
Francois and family have been cooking up delicious food at local events since 2016, serving it out of their food truck.
“We just have a Southern and northern twang. Put them together and that’s where you get Snoutherns,” she explained.
Erin grew up in Michigan and her grandparents are from Louisiana. Giving her inspiration from many different areas.
“It all represents me and it’s all made with love,” she bragged.
But that love of food got them a spot on a national TV show, “Family Food Showdown.”
“The producer of the show actually called me personally. I was referred to him from somewhere. Some angel, whoever you are, thank you out there,” she said.
Hosted by Valerie Bertinelli, the family had a chance to show off their cooking skills for the entire nation to watch.
“We went out and represented well. We won. Came home with the prize, so, it’s really been a phenomenal year,” she boasted.
And what a year it will be. This year, they will be at the all he downtown concerts, and several other stops along the way. And they are increasing their menu to include new foods like the Caribbean jerk chicken and fried tacos.
“We’re going to explore some other menu ideas,” said Francois.
And you have a chance to taste those ideas all summer long.
