First court appearance for Wamego man arrested in teen's killing

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A 23-year-old Wamego man arrested last week for second-degree murder made his first court appearance Tuesday.

Cody Lamia-Beck was taken into custody March 6th in connection with the death of Jacob Bouck ,whose body was found on a Pottawatomie Co. river bank on Christmas Eve.

Pottawatomie County Attorney Sherri Schuck says Lamia-Beck was appointed an attorney during his appearance and will be back in court Friday.

Bouck, 19, was missing for several days before his body was discovered on December 24 near the Kansas River, about a mile west of Wamego.
