Federal charges filed against Topeka man for January armed robberies

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Federal charges have been filed against a Topeka man accused in two armed robberies.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said a federal grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday for Justin Alexander McClelland, 30. He is charged with two counts of aiding and abetting robbery and two counts of aiding and abetting the use of a firearm during a robbery.

The first robbery count alleges McClelland took part in a Jan. 6th, 2017 robbery at Plato's Closet on SW Wanamaker Road. The second robbery count alleges he also took part in a Jan. 20th robbery at Kentucky Friend Chicken on Topeka Boulevard.

Joshua Alexander Musgraves, 24, also of Topeka, was charged in the same robberies. He pleaded guilty. Sentencing is set for May 14th.
