TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The fate of Topeka’s oldest family-owned restaurant is up in the air.
McFarland’s Restaurant opened in 1932 and moved into its Gage Center location at in the 1960's.
Advisors Excel recently bought the property, which led to the impending closure.
Owner Walt McFarland says he'd like to reopen elsewhere, but if he can't find a site, he will miss his loyal customers.
"It's just happening so fast, and we don't know what to do, we just know in time we will not be here,” McFarland said.
He'll decide Friday exactly when he'll serve up his last dishes.
