KHP releases name of woman killed in I-70 crash

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) A 51-year-old Topeka woman died in a two-vehicle wreck early Thursday morning on I-70 East near Fairlawn Road.

Authorities say Dana Thowe was killed when Pontiac G6 collided with a KDOT truck around 3:20 a.m. Investigators say she was going too fast for conditions and rear-ended the other vehicle.

Authorities closed I-70 East for more than two hours while they worked the scene. It was reopened shortly before 7 a.m.

The 39-year-old driver of the KDOT vehicle, Caleb Wasson, of Topeka, had no apparent injuries.

Authorities have cleared the scene, but are still investigating the crash.
