All three suspects in Monday's double homicide in Hi-Crest now face first-degree murder charges.

On Friday, the Shawnee Co. District Attorney's Office announced formal charges against Matthew Hutto, Richard Showalter, and Brad Sportsman. Each of them now faces two murder charges, among other counts. (Full list below) They are all being held on $1,000,000 bond.

District Attorney Mike Kagay says the two victims, Lisa Collins-Sportsman, 28, and her cousin Jesse Polinskey, 17, died from blunt force trauma.

Bradley Sportsman had been married to Lisa Collins-Sportsman, authorities said.

The investigation into their deaths had police searching for four people in a blue 2012 Ford F-150 truck. Officers spotted the full-size pickup on I-70 and stopped it. All four people in the truck were detained for questioning, leading to the arrest of Hutto, Showalter, and Sportsman. Each of them is in the Shawnee County Department of Corrections with a $1 million bond.

The fourth person was not arrested and police did not release that individual's name.

The Topeka Police Dept. continues to investigate the case. Anyone with information about it is asked to contact police.

Collins-Sportsman stabbed over 50 times

The family of Lisa Collins-Sportsman says they cannot hold a viewing for her because she was stabbed over 50 times.

Topeka police say Lisa Collins-Sportsman, 28, and Jesse Polinskey, 17, were both beaten and stabbed to death Monday at a home in the 3400 block of SE Girard St., in Hi-Crest.

Lisa’s father, Tim Collins, says the coroner’s report will not be available for several weeks, but was told by the funeral home that she was stabbed so many times, it would not be possible to hold a viewing for her.

The memorial service for Lisa R Collins and Jesse Polinskey will be Thursday August 2nd at 11 am at Westside Baptist Church 1008 SW 4th street in Topeka.

The family says they have set up a GoFundMe to help cover Lisa's funeral expenses. You can donate
