Emporia man accused in Oct. 1 stabbing

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) One man is facing multiple charges for a stabbing in Emporia last week.

KVOE Radio is reporting that Cody Risner, 27, faces counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the October 1, 2019 incident.

Emporia Police said Risner held a knife to the victim's throat, and then stabbed the man in the chest and ribs area, at a home in the 1200 block of Triplett Drive.

Police were called after the victim arrived at a local hospital.

Risner was located a short time later and taken into custody. KVOE said he is denying the charges.

His preliminary hearing is set for October 17th in Lyon County District Court.
