Emergency Medical Services have their week to shine

TOPEKA (WIBW)--- The state will honor all our Emergency Medical Services workers next week.

Governor Laura Kelly proclaimed May 19th to 25th as EMS Week.

Shawnee County Ambulance Compliance Officer Nelson Casteel briefed County Commissioners Thursday on all the services EMS workers provide the community.

Area first responders, dispatchers, firefighters, and emergency medical workers were on hand to recognize their partnerships.

AMR also showcased Stryker, the 11-month-old Goldendoodle is completing training to become a therapy dog, and will soon take his certification test as a therapy dog.

stryker's arrival is part of a national program, to help e-m-s workers cope with trauma.
